I didn't paint the cloth textures O_o I'm too lazy for that. Credit goes to : ~ALP-Stock.deviantart.com
The painting on the fan is by chinese artist Zhou Xian.
I'll need to adjust some elements later, but it's kinda late at the moment so I'll do that tomorrow. First time painting cloth without a direct photoreference, just a bunch of satin on the floor ^^ And yeah, the lace is screwed up, I know. :(

Spider on the shoulder was referenced from a google search image.
Cookies to anyone who can correctly guess where the title is from.

The Spider's Lullaby

When I was trying to think up a name for this piece King Diamond's "To the Morgue" popped into my head. Fittingly, the album that song comes from is called "The Spider's Lullaby" and the girl in the picture looks like me, kinda, and I'm "acid lullaby" so I thought it was extremely fitting ^_^, what a good day for naming art.

Anyway, this is a piece of speed painting gone astray, done freehand entirely in Painter Classic with a Wacom Intuos 2 tablet. Essentially to practice light.

About 6 or 7 hours with the program crashing on me every now and then.

Used photos of myself as reference (for some reason taking photos of oneself at 3am always seem like a good idea), had about 6 different photos to help with lighting and the hand...

Gotta say I'm really pleased with how the hand turned out ^_^, it was sort of a fluke.

And Linda Bergkvist's hair painting tutorial really works!

I'm being quite productive this week... ^^

Comments and criticism welcome
